My journey has only just started!
I started to make changes to my lifestyle in my early 20's without really knowing it at first. I joined a big brand name health club and really enjoyed exercising. After a few years I started to think that I wanted this as a job, so in 1999 I qualified as a group fitness instructor and started to teach classes as a hobby after work.
After a break up I really used exercise as a release to everything that was going on and it really helped me get back on track. As time went by I knew I wanted this to become my full time work but financially it was not going to work.
Fast forward nearly 20 years, 4 countries, a husband, one amazing boy who is now 10 and 13 years as a successful Personal Trainer my journey has made me have to have made lots of changes!
A few years back I realised that as much as I love training and will never give that up, I felt that a lot of my clients were coming to me for weight loss reasons which does not fully happen with exercise alone. You need to focus on nutrition and other lifestyle factors and it doesn't happen overnight if you want life lasting results.
Once Covid hit and I lost a lot of my business I decided to invest my extra time in gaining more knowledge to become a Health Coach through the Institute of Integrative Nutrition. I graduated in March 2021.
I have learnt all the different dietary theories but most importantly I understand that some peoples food is another persons poison. i.e one thing may work for one person but not another.
Nutrition is not only based on the theory but on the individual and I can help you to explore not only your secondary food (what you put into your body) but also your primary food (lifestyle factors that have an impact on your secondary food) sleep, stress management, movement, emotions etc.
I will guide you through the changes you are looking to make, offer support, knowledge and accountability as you navigate your health and wellness journey. I offer one on one coaching in person, video call or by phone and run group coaching sessions periodically both of which achieve measurable and proven results.
